Delisa Perry is from Chicago. She has a Bachelor's and Master's in philosophy, from Purdue University Northwest and Biola University, respectively. She became more interested in political advocacy specifically for our community during graduate school at the height of the Black Lives Matter movement in 2014. This led her to be the first host of Chocolate Chat, an organization for Black female students that met monthly to discuss prominent Black with other Black female students. Her philosophical interests include epistemology (theory of knowledge) and how it intersects with the experience of Black women. Her interests include playing the guitar, bonding with her cat Sherlock, and knitting.
